What is ROAS?

ROAS stands for return on ad spend. It measures the revenue attributed to advertising for every euro spent on those ads.

ROAS = attributed ad revenue ÷ ad spend

For example, €2,400 in attributed revenue from €800 in ad spend gives a ROAS of 3x, or 300%. That means €3 in revenue for every €1 spent on ads.

ROAS vs. revenue per visitor

ROAS compares revenue with advertising costs. Revenue per visitor divides revenue by the number of visitors, making it useful for comparing paid and unpaid traffic. ROAS measures revenue return, not profit: it does not account for product costs or other operating expenses.
